Spending power is calculated in real time against the last known (price) information. Keep in mind that spending power may under no circumstances be negative and that it is always a snapshot; after all, spending power changes continuously. Be aware that the last known price information is not the most current information.
Components of spending power
When calculating spending power, the following components are taken into account, where applicable:
- The balance of the cash account(s)
- Open orders and money transfers
- Costs for closing positions
Where can I see spending power?
You and your end-customers will find spending power under 'Portfolio' and then 'Cash' in your end-customer’s portfolio overview and in the order ticket. Please note that open orders will not be settled against the spending power displayed on the platform and order ticket, but will be deducted from the spending power at the time you place an order.
Balance of cash account(s)
The system takes into account the last known data for the balance of your end-customer’s cash account(s). Executed orders (including partial executions) and pending money transfers and accruals are processed in the cash balance. Open orders may or may not be deducted from the spending power, depending on the opening hours of the exchange on which you place them.
