Model Manager is an efficient and scalable solution for managing a large number of end-client portfolios by utilising models to align the portfolios with specific compositions. Partners can create models or pre-constructed investment portfolios that act as blueprints or templates, representing specific investment strategies, risk tolerances, or financial goals.
Model portfolios offer a structured approach to investment management, typically comprising a combination of asset classes. To facilitate this, Model Manager allows partners to construct models using various types of instruments such as:
- Stocks
- ETFs
- Mutual funds
- ETNs
- ETCs
Aligning end-client portfolios with model compositions is achieved through the rebalancing function available in Model Manager. Rebalancing is a crucial process that ensures portfolios remain in line with end-clients' goals and risk tolerances as time progresses.
Model Manager enables partners to schedule calendar rebalancing, which involves adjusting the asset allocation of portfolios back to their target allocation. This is necessary because market movements and the performance of different asset classes can cause the actual portfolio allocation to deviate from the intended allocation over time.
Additionally, Model Manager facilitates cash flow rebalancing, which ensures that client portfolios remain aligned with the model allocation when cash is added or withdrawn. This type of rebalancing becomes necessary when events like cash deposits or withdrawals cause the actual portfolio allocations to deviate from the target allocation.
